Healthcare Management Project within Radiology

What did you gain from your international experience?
The realization that medicine is not the ultimate cure. Nor is money. The problems in Africa (if one is allowed the luxury of some generailization) are multi-faceted. It is economical, political, racial, social, cultural, educational, medical, environmental…or one can just easily insert any adjective here and he will find it relevant in the context of Africa.

How has this experience enhanced your medical training and how will it help you in the future as a doctor?
My project focuses on healthcare management (since it is a collaboration between Kellogg School of Management, Feinberg School of Medicine, and University of Cape Town), which allows me to explore the managerial aspect of medicine especially in the context of Africa. It also taught me that one should always probe deeper to the core source of any medical issue at hand because nothing is as simple as it might seem.
